Just a continuation of a very thought provoking discussion my friend, :iconlucratanexarii: and I were having on twitter. It grew to such amazing proportions that I feel for the sake of her sanity and perhaps my own, it might be better answered here. ;) (if you have no idea what's going on here it's ok. ;D I'm just going to ramble here for a moment. :giggle: )

The point you brought up Beck readily accepting the role of military is a very good one! One of the things that initially attracted me so much to "Identity" was the precarious power held within the disc. My theory of Beck's reaction, was that due to the massive chunks of memory taken out of his consciousness by way of overwriting-newer memories. He had some sense of familiarity of Lux and therefore trusted her completely. Due to the loss of memory not presenting nay connections to the masked, mysterious, black-garbed Tron he therefore didn't really listen to him. It's an interesting sort of 'illness'.

I also wonder over the abilities of the military designation. I like the idea of "strays" being brainwashed/corrupted into thinking things against their programming, including becoming part of Clu's army like Beck did. It's kinda an underworldish way of Clu gathering up the enormous froce we see in Legacy. But it's interesting how Tron appears to be able to re-intall Beck's or Yori's original personalities and some sense of memory back into them. :)

I wonder was precise designation Tesler is. Perhaps he, like Paige, was an everyday citizen of the Grid that Clu ushered into his new army.
